Acceptance of Terms
By downloading and using the Peakful mobile application (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App. The App is operated by Friendo Apps Technologies - FZCO, a free zone company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, referred to below as "we," "us," or "our." We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use of the App following the posting of revised Terms means that you accept and agree to the changes.
Description of the App
Peakful is an iOS application with short illustrated lessons about how social media shapes the way you see your own life. The App includes:
- A short first-run flow with guessing questions about the world and questions about you and your feed, which shape your path
- A path of lessons laid out on a map, each built on published research and citing the studies it draws on
- A collection of the cards you earn by finishing lessons, and a streak of the days you learned
- A lesson reminder you can switch on yourself
The App requires no account. Your progress and your answers are stored on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. When analytics is on, how the App is used and your answers in the first-run flow are reported to our analytics as described in the Privacy Policy.
Information, Not Advice
Peakful presents research findings for interest and self-understanding. It is not financial, medical, psychological, or legal advice, it is not therapy or treatment, and it is not a diagnosis or an assessment of any kind. Studies describe groups of people, not individuals, and a finding from one group may not describe your situation. Do not make health or personal decisions on the basis of a lesson alone. If how you feel about social media, your body or your life concerns you, speak to a qualified professional.
Accuracy of Sources
The lessons cite the studies, datasets and reports they draw on, so you can verify them yourself. We select sources in good faith, but we do not warrant that any third-party source is accurate, current or free of error, and samples, definitions and methods differ between studies. Lessons simplify and illustrate research for a general reader. If you believe a finding is misread or out of date, tell us and we will correct it.
Subscriptions & Payments
Peakful Pro
Peakful offers an auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the full feature set. Subscriptions are purchased through Apple In-App Purchase. The exact price, billing period, and any introductory or trial terms are presented to you on the App Store payment screen before you confirm payment, and those displayed terms apply to your purchase. Prices may vary by region and currency and may change over time.
Introductory & Trial Offers
We may offer introductory pricing or a trial period to new subscribers. The availability, price, and duration of any such offer are shown at the point of purchase. Apple's "one introductory offer per subscription group" rule applies. If you do not cancel before an introductory or trial period ends, your subscription automatically converts to the standard price shown at the time of purchase. If notifications are allowed, the App reminds you before a free trial ends, but the reminder is a courtesy and cancelling in time remains your responsibility.
Auto-Renewal & Cancellation
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel in Settings > [Your Name] > Subscriptions > Peakful. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you retain access until that date.
Refunds
Purchases are billed and managed by Apple, not by us. Refund requests are handled by Apple: visit reportaproblem.apple.com or contact Apple Support through your App Store account.
Your Answers
You retain all rights to what you enter into the App. It is stored on your device, and the only part of it we receive is your answers in the first-run flow, as analytics keyed to a random identifier, described in the Privacy Policy. We claim no license over any of it, and because your device holds the record, we cannot recover it for you if you erase it or remove the App.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the App except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it, not to redistribute or resell the App or its content, and not to use the App in any way that violates applicable law.
Intellectual Property
The App, its design, its lessons, illustrations and text, its name and its logo are our property and are protected by intellectual property law. The research the lessons draw on remains the property of its authors and publishers and is cited in the App accordingly.
Third-Party Services
The App uses Apple In-App Purchase for payment and RevenueCat for subscription validation, Google Firebase for analytics and remote settings, and the Meta, TikTok and AppsFlyer SDKs to measure our advertising, as described in the Privacy Policy. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising out of your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. By using the App, you consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE. Before initiating formal proceedings, we encourage you to contact us at [email protected] to informally resolve any dispute.
